North Wales Coast – 2 – Glan-y-Mor Elias – 2

After the tide had receded I moved onto the Spinnies just outside of Bangor.

I needed another high tide to work this area, but the potential is huge and at some time I’ll get back. The remains of a pier however were good to work with and the light continued to be in my favour. The birds in this post were all taken at the first hide on the high tide, apart from the Oystercatchers there were only small numbers being pushed up and a single Knot. In the evening whilst having fish and chips on the front at Llanfairfechan I worked a group of Herons as the light faded, hoping they would remain statuesque as the water moved around them on a slow shutter speed. For some shots they remained static and for other they moved during the exposure creating a sense of moving out of themselves. The remarkable camouflage of the Ringed Plovers kept me amused for ages!
